Just down the road from them there's an Ameristar.

I think a fair comparison would be Bally's LV. Pool, spa, nicer than most LV downtown properties, not as nice as most direct-strip properties. They opened the hotel part about 10 years ago, so the rooms are still pretty fresh, good amenities, nice size with good bedding. I was red-chip the whole time, but they treated me like a total VIP. Think they had about 40 tables, including craps and roulette, about 20 carnival games total, the rest BJ. They were open 24/7, though they close most games at least some of the early am hours. Most games are $5 minimum, though I can't speak for BJ, and they do deal poker. They have 2 room towers (1 non-smoking, 1 some smoking), 4 restaurants, a 2-story casino that's on the Missouri River, and very convenient to downtown and major highways, also easily reached from the MCI airport (both north of downtown). I have the impression (possibly wrong) you're not a CET fan, but Harrah's Kansas City is quite nice, and I enjoy their games.
